The Discovery Centre commenced operations in Karachi in January 2002. Located on the top floor of the high-profile Park Towers shopping mall in Karachi's Old Clifton, DC was an instant success as an after-school learnong centre fro students from the city's leading private schools. Discovery Centre Lahorw opened its doors in March 2002 in a centrally located bungalow near the 'Mini Market' roundabout in Gulberg. Like DC Karachi, DC Lahore's initial focus was also on after-school classes and summer workshops. The Discovery Centre Philosphy was to engage students in their school subjects (the curriculum) through the use of exciting technologies like robotics, digital filmmaking, computers, and the Internet. Many People Initially thought that the Discovery Centre was a 'high-tech' technology institute where their children could come and learn technologies like robotics, whereas the DC philosphy was laways to use such technologies to enhance intuitive understanding of abstract school concepts. Discovery Centre Karachi and Lahore continue to offer workshops to students of various schools both during the summer vocations and through innstitutional partnerships with selected schools during the academic year.
